Apartment essentials to know
Hello and welcome to the essentials of the buildings that might be interesting.
Each apartment has not more than 60 amperes single phase 120/240 volts electricity feed.
The main disconnects and electricity meters for each apartment are in the closet ( next to the chute room, if you are living in 900 building West side-tier 01 trough 07), in the east chute room are the East side disconnects ( tiers 08 trough 14). If you’re in the 910 building the meters and disconnects are in the North stairwell.
Older apartments have fuse boxes with 15 and 20 amps fuses , also to mention there is no disconnect for the stove in the unit but rather whoever is servicing will have to turn power off for the whole apartment in order to safely work on that. So upgrade of the panel to breakers would be helpful ( is not that I’m saying the older panel is not safe but rather inconvenient).
Original outlets are two prong and they are with three outlets , one of them is connected to the light switch on the wall. And they are safe to use for appliances that have cord with two prong connector. If you want to three prong connector conversion I would suggest/ recommend GFCI outlets replaced by certified electrician to do proper job ( it’s all about your safety)
